Yirgacheffe Coffee

Yirgacheffe officially called Gedeo, is a zone within the state of SNNPR. Coffee is sold under the name Yirgacheffe, which is a (district) within the Gedeo Zone. Yirgacheffe coffee is a wet processed (washed) coffee grown at heights ranging from 1,700 to 2,200 meters above sea level in southern Ethiopia, an exotic coffee region recognized for exquisite coffees. It is much sought after for bright point citric acidity. It is well-bodied, balanced cup of mocha combined with flowery, spicy elements and an array of fruity flavors gives it a layered and complex wheel of taste creating a huge demand in the international market.

Anogara Washing Station Site

Anogara Site is located in the SNNPR regional state’s Gedeo Zone, Kochere District, Bunki Busa Kebele, at an elevation of 2,000-2,200 meters above sea level. On this site, we produce 100 tons of organic high-quality Yirgacheffe Grade 1-2 coffee with 100 registered coffee farmers. The coffee produced at this site is known for its distinct flavor, bright point citric acidity, well-bodied, balanced cup of mocha combined with flowery flavour.

Kochere originates from the Yirgacheffe coffee growing region in the eastern part of the in Ethiopia’s Southern Nation Nationalities People’s Republic Regional State in the ‘kebele’ (local village) of Bunki Busa. The washing station sits at 2,100m above sea level. It is managed by the site strategic partner Shiferaw Jigso. The cherries are secured from our own 5.5-hectare farm that sits in elevation of 1,950–2,200 meters above sea level. In addition, 100 local farmers are contracted to supply to Anogara site.

On the Anogara Site, a team of 250 people works at the washing station. Of which 150 women between the ages of 20 – 47. G. Global takes pleasure in providing a fair, stimulating work environment for all of its employees that meets international standards.  

Gelana Washing Station Site

Gelana Site is located in the SNNPR regional state’s Gedeo Zone, Kochere District, Kore Kebele, at an elevation of 2,000-2,200 meters above sea level. On this site, we produce 100 tons of organic high-quality Yirgacheffe Grade 1-2 coffee with 155 registered coffee farmers. The coffee produced at this location is known for its distinct flavor, bright point citric acidity, well-bodied, balanced cup of mocha combined with flowery flavour.

Kochere originates from the Yirgacheffe coffee growing region in the eastern part of the in Ethiopia’s Southern Nation Nationalities People’s Republic Regional State in the ‘kebele’ (local village) of Kore. The site strategic partner Tamerat Alemayehu works collaboratively with G. Global Coffee. Tamerat manages all operations at washing station.

On Gelana Site, a team of 320 people works at the washing station. Of which 223 women between the ages of 20 – 47. G. Global takes pleasure in providing a fair, stimulating work environment for all of its employees that meets international standards.  

Sergi Spring Washing Station Site

Sergi Spring Site is located in the SNNPR regional state’s Gedeo Zone, Chorso District, Kisha Kebele, at an elevation of 2,000-2,250 meters above sea level. On this site, we produce 100 tons of organic high-quality Yirgacheffe Grade 1-2 coffee with 130 registered coffee farmers. The coffee produced at this location is known for its distinct flavor, bright point citric acidity, well-bodied, balanced cup of mocha combined with flowery flavour.

Chorso originates from the Yirgacheffe coffee growing region in the eastern part of the in Ethiopia’s Southern Nation Nationalities People’s Republic Regional State in the ‘kebele’ (local village) of Kisha. The site strategic partner Tamerat Alemayehu works collaboratively with G. Global Coffee. Tamerat manages all operations at washing station.

On Sergi Spring Site, a team of 350 people works at the washing station. Of which 255 women between the ages of 20 – 47. G. Global takes pleasure in providing a fair, stimulating work environment for all of its employees that meets international standards.
